After training there was press conference (as everyday) and today it was Sergio Busquets turn. Player emphasized that the squad has the same hunger for silverware as ever. “Last year we demonstrated that winning titles doesn’t make us drop our guard. We always go out to win”. Right now he believes the players have to focus on Saturday’s game against Sevilla and win the first title of the season. (if you want read more - click)

The next training session is scheduled for Thursday at 9 am. It will be held behind closed doors. The session will be followed by a press conference with Gerard Piqué.

Ok, I promissed something special. I mentioned at the beggining that today is special day for our club. 12 years ago, the old Son Moix stadium in Palma de Mallorca witnessed the debut of a young man who was to become one of the best midfielders in the world. For Xavi it was the first step on the road to success with the best Barça team in history. In a Barça TV programme broadcast on 25th October 2006, Xavi remembered the moment with great affection despite the fact that Barça went on to lose the match: “It was really a dream come true. The day before, Louis Van Gaal came to my room in the hotel where the team was staying and told me that I was going to play against Mallorca. I couldn’t sleep that night. It was the moment I’d been waiting for since I was a boy and now it was so close I was really nervous. But scoring the goal in the 15th minute gave me fantastic confidence for the rest of the match”.
Thank you Xavi for soo many years and we ask for more of course! Speaking at a press conference after training on Wednesday morning, Sergio Busquets told reporters: “It’s a privilege and a source of pride to play alongside Xavi. I’ve got a lot to thank him for, ranging from personal advice to football tips, especially about tactics because Xavi is a very complete player. He’s a symbol for the young players coming up through the ranks. I hope we can all play as many years as him in the first team”.
