Supercopa once again

Hello again, I have a LOT of photos and some intresting facts about Supercopa game. So here we go...

Some anagdots:
► Seven of the eight Barça players to have won the World Cup last month made their first appearances with only Carles Puyol remaining on the bench. Valdés, Busquets, Xavi, Pedro and Piqué played from first minutes of game. Iniesta and Villa entered pitch in second half.

► No team has ever before won the Super Cup after losing the first leg by two goals.

► The first goal against Sevilla was similar to the one that opened the scoring against Real Valladolid at the end of last season while Lionel Messi’s fourth was reminiscent of his effort in the 2-2 draw against Valencia two seasons ago.

► Maxwell won the ball back more than other player doing so ten times.

► Xavi, as usual, was the most involved player as he made 134 passes.

► Víctor Valdés had the least touches as Sevilla had just one shot.

► Dani alves put in the most crosses with ten while Xavi managed to put the ball in the area four times.

► Barça have beaten Sevilla 4-0 on three out of the last four meetings with the Andalucian outfit in Camp Nou.

► Puyol, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Valdés and Messi have all now won the Spanish Super Cup on four occasions each.

► Dani Alves, Éric Abidal, Maxwell and Seydou Keita are the four players that played both Spanish Super Cup games in full.

► Villa (in '56) and Adriano (in '87) debuted on Camp Nou!

► It was first official game watched by president Sandro Rosell, he didn't participated in trip to Sanchez Pizjuan because he wanted to debut as president on Camp Nou

► Pep Guardiola announced squad only 40 minutes before kick-off, he usually does it an hour before games.

► Jonathan and Thiago played in frist leg of Supercopa but second game they watched from stands.

► Our young talents from Barcelona presented Nike Premier Cup which they won in Manchester (this is unofficial World Champion for players under 15 years old). They recieved great applause at Camp Nou.

► At Camp Nou there were 2 special banners made by supporters, first one 'Ànims Ibra' which can be translated as 'Cheer up Ibra' and '10 años de historia, gracias Xavi'- '10 years of history, thank you Xavi'


► 64 414 supporters (this not include children) were at Camp Nou to cheer our team!

► It's 9th Supercopa for Barcelona!

Below is what some of the other players said after the Super Cup win:

Iniesta:

“If we do things that well we have a great chance.”

“Madrid have the coach they have. They will always be rivals.”

“Villa was very pleased to make his debut and the people were excited to see him.”

“What has happened to me until now has been great, but I want to continue winning.”

Pedro

“I am pleased because the team played a great game.”

“The team is in form, but we still have some way to go. These games help.”

“All trophies are important and all the players have ambitions.”

“These games give us confidence.”

Messi

“What is most important is that we have turned around a difficult result and won the first trophy of the season.”

“We have to stay calm and continue to improve throughout the year.”

“We felt good during the whole game.”

“We never had any doubts.”

“My team-mates all said that I was not suited to the Jubalani ball in the World Cup, but I scored with it tonight.”

“The new signings are very good. We have a great side.”

“I am looking forward to the Gamper. Ronaldinho deserves a good reception from our fans for all that he did here.”

Alves

“It is important to continue to win trophies and not become tired of winning.”

Piqué

“We are ready for anything.”

“We were convinced that we could bounce back. If we produced our game it is difficult to play against us.”

“In the second half we tired, but in the first we were very good.”

“One wants to play 90 minutes, although in the last quarter-of-an-hour it can affect you.”

“Villa was delighted. He enjoyed the way the team played.”

Maxwell

“The comeback was important for everyone. We could not have asked for a better start.”

“The result in Sevilla made things difficult, but this game has been spectacular.”

“We maintained possession well and created chances.”

“I always look for the positive side. When a team wins like we did today everyone can play well.”

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his players after they thumped Sevilla 4-0 in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup to secure the trophy with a 5-3 aggregate triumph. (read more here-click)
