Training, schedule and great news

With the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup coming up next Saturday, Guardiola will be working hard with the squad this week, as the Spanish internationals in particular aim to get up to pace.

Sunday was a rest day for the squad, but they were back on Monday evening to start an intense week of preparation for next Saturday’s game at the Nou Camp in which Guardiola will hopefully be able to work with all of his players.

After Monday’s evening session, the players will train morning (09.00) and evening (19.00) on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a single evening session on Thursday and an early 09.00 start on Friday morning.

Saturday – training and match

With the Super Cup second leg set to kick off at 20.30, the players will train at 11.30 on Saturday morning.

The countdown begins to the return leg of the Super Cup and the good news on Monday evening was the return to training of José Manuel Pinto for the first time since picking up an injury last week.
The session included 20 players from the senior squad plus 8 from Barça B - Oier, Miño, Sergi Gómez, Jonathan, Thiago, Oriol Romeu, Victor Vázquez and Fontàs. The best news of the day was the reappearance of José Manuel Pinto, who worked alongside his team-mates for the first part of the session. Fans will remember that the goalkeeper suffered a muscle injury in training last Wednesday.
However, Ibrahimovic was unavailable for training due to a throat infection while Hleb had a problem in his right foot and stayed behind to exercise in the gym.
